Cellphones in public (a mini-rant)

Maybe they should be banned in public (like smoking or sex). I mean do I really need to hear this while standing in line at the bank “… so I asked him if he wanted to see X and he said yes but he couldn’t drive because they suspended his license since he didn’t make last months child support payment”

or

this while in line at the grocery store “… so I told her that if she calls him again or tries to see him again, that I am going to kick her a**”. And this was an adult speaking NOT a teenaged person!

I try my best not to be rude where my cellphone use is concerned: I generally keep it on vibrate, I only answer calls from the hubs or kids if I am out in public and if someone isn’t on fire, I tell them I’ll call back when I am done in the store, and I NEVER discuss personal details of my life (or anyone else’s) when I am in a public place.

Is our society becoming so ME oriented that people don’t consider that others might not want to hear the sordid details of our lives?

  1. Don’t get me started on this one. Ugh! I like (not) the ones that are in their car talking on their cell phones and they completely ignore the traffic signs and keep on going. One guy almost hit me. If God intended us to be on the phone 24/7 then he would implanted them in our ears.
